Multiple Intelligences Training Bite

2 Multiple Intelligences Training BiteHoward Gardner’s theory of Multiple Intelligences has informed and improved the practice of those who train and teach. By recognising the diversity of ways that people learn (“it’s not how smart you are that matters … it’s how you are smart”), individuals can create optimum learning opportunities for themselves, and trainers can structure workshops and learning activities to appeal to all Intelligences.
This video can be used to supplement group or individual face to face train-the-trainer training. It can also be used as pre-workshop preparation, or post-workshop as a reminder or reinforcement.
The Training Bite might also be used as stand alone training material for people unable to receive face to face training.

    alls good and well, …
alls good and well, but you need to fix it, as there are NINE multiple intelligences by Gardner, the last one is Existential Intelligence, which is intuitive smart. please update. another thing: never use wikipedia as a source, as academically, which is the reason people look up these things in the first place, academically it is not a reliable source. whenever wiki is a source in an assignment, they fail. not useful at all.

    Can anyone provide …
Can anyone provide even a single article from a serious journal or a juried conference paper that documents a link between the use of MI in school and improved performance? Im talking about observations of real school children & tasks.

Self-proclaimed educational consultants (mainly uninformed school-hustling, pedagogy pimps) take thousands of dollars from schools and claim that MI can help schools and children and offer no support for this claim. Can anyone cite ANY VALID evidence?

    Thanks for your …
Thanks for your comment, saltanan. I made the video imagining it being used as a little quiz, where people guess which Intelligence is being represented each time. It’s less ‘stand alone’ than most of my other videos, I guess.

    Interesting …
Interesting approach. There’s lots on YouTube about Multiple Intelligences, and this is one of the more intriguing videos about it.

    Yes, it’ll be …
Yes, it’ll be interesting to see what people think. Also, I’m aware if got used to your style, so coming at it ‘fresh’ might be different too.

    Experimenting, …
    Experimenting, mainly.

I put the pictures together, then thought it would be fun to try out the sound effects in my editing software. I intended to give a voiceover as well, but by the time I had layers of geese, ducks, forest birds etc, I thought it would all get too busy, sound-wise. So, I decided to upload it as it was and test the reaction. If I get too much negative then I’ll record a narration, but I’m trying to be less literal all the time, and let people explore & discover.

    You don’t comment …
You don’t comment on this different format, without spoken word. Why the picture and soundscape approach?

Ha! Yes, I’m on a bit of a creative roll right now, plus got some time in the office rather than at clients, so the hours I would spend commuting are spent playing with the camcorder and editing suite instead.

A friend (and subscriber here) said my vids were too long for her tastes, so I’m challenging myself to make them shorter.

You amaze me! Yet another format for your videos … and this one only 24 hours after your one on time management.
I love it – less ‘instructional’ than your others, but fun to watch. It’s also interesting to see that the last two vids are shorter – running out of time to make them?!
