Time Savers, The New Online Currency
By Virginia Reynolds
Down here in the southern latitudes September 1 is the first day of Spring - and what a glorious warm sunny day it was! I managed to get away from the computer and clean up around the garden. The croaking of the frogs reassured me that all was well with the world. Then it hit me! This was the first time in weeks that I stopped and smelled the roses - literally.

I realized that I was spending too much time with my home internet businesses and stressing about the myriad of choices of internet income opportunities offered during the course of a normal day. There is pressure because every choice I made had an inverse cost of worrying about what might have been, had a different choice been made.

May I ask you to really think about what's offered on the internet in the home-based business field. In most cases the income opportunities seduce us with the appeal of saving us time and relieving us of stress. Various manifestations of this seductive appeal include "make thousands within 30 days", "blast your ad to millions with just three clicks of your mouse", "99% of the grunt work is done for you, automatically", and my all-time favorite

- "this system runs on autopilot!"

I bet the marketing gurus who write this byline have not seen many Air Crash Investigation documentaries on cable. Pilot error account for most of these crashes. I would hate to speculate as to whether "auto-pilots" would do any better! (As a corollary to this - the next so-called friend who approaches me with yet another MLM or network marketing scheme saying that it is all run on "auto-pilot", I will scream!) Forgive me, for I digress ...

So what is the relevance of saving time to earning an income online? Everything! Think about it. What we do with our time, rather than how much time we spend, is the crucial question here. I know it's easy to fool myself into thinking that because I have been extraordinarily busy working my internet businesses I am therefore going to earn so much money on "autopilot" and therefore create stress-free time to go outside and smell the roses.

Busy-ness is not good business.

The irony here is that my main motivation for earning income online at home is to avoid those time pressures which come with the territory when working for an employer.

So one solution, to my mind, is to find good digital information products that cut to the chase and give you the nuts and bolts as to what to do to make an online income, and how to go about it. Such products should show how this can be automated eventually, once you know what you are doing, and can generate enough funds to pay for the right people to take over day-to-day tasks and free up your time. I am talking about the sort of free time whereby you can go outside, hop into a plane, and appreciate the croaking of the frogs, in Switzerland. (OK, cowbells then ...)

You may not believe me, but such information products do exist. It's just a matter of finding them. "But" you may scream, "that takes time!". I know, I know already. All I can say is just do it - then go outside and smell the roses and dream of that trip away.
